Surface Dirt Grass Alligator Skin Metal Rod Rocks | Prediction The dirt would just absorb the water. The water will have no effect on the grass. The "Alligator" skin also will repelled the water The water will slide right off The water will work its way past the rocks | Actual The dirt, well, just absorbed the water! The water just slid down the grass and left it slick. The "Alligator" skin (plastic) also repelled the water. The water slid right off The water slowly flowed through the cracks | Reflection I think this could have been less boring if we used different types of dirt, maybe fake dirt? I think the grass repelled the water because it normally gets water from the roots so it dosent need to absorb it through itself. I think actual Alligator skin blocks the water because the alligator spends most of it's time in the water. Also because it can drink through it's mouth. I think it would have reacted differently if the metal had rust on it because the rust would have caught the water and trapped it. It was kinda like the game where you drop a quarter through the pegs and into a slot. |
