Surface Dirt Grass Bark Tree leaves Water | Prediction I predicted that the water would spread from the area that the water droplet dropped on, throughout all of the dirt. I also predicted that the dirt would become moist. I predicted that the water would fall quickly off the grass, since the grass is so thin. I also predicted that when two drops of water hit each other, they would combine. I thought the bark would get darker, and would sink into the bark instead of falling off of it. I thought the water would stick to the leaf, because the leaf we had was almost "waxy", so I thought it would stick. I thought that the water would make the rest of the water vibrate and shimmer. I also thought it would make a really quiet "plinking" noise. | Actual Basically, what happened was what I predicted. The only thing I didn't predict happening was that the dirt stuck to the eye dropper when I was moving it around with it. My prediction was a little bit right and a little bit wrong. When the water hit the grass, some of the droplets fell off, but the others stick to the grass! The bark prediction was almost right. The bark did get a little bit darker, but only some of the water sank into the bark. The rest of it dripped off the other end. My prediction was right, the water almost stuck to the leaf, but when I touched the leaf, it was still entirely wet. My prediction was pretty much 100% right, except the "plinking" sound was a lot quieter then I thought it was going to be. | Reflection I wasn't as surprised that the water spread to all of the dirt, or that it became moist, but I was a little surprised when it started sticking to the eye dropper. I was a little bit surprised when I found out that the water stuck to the grass! I didn't expect that to happen! I thought it was really cool that the bark got darker, and the water sunk into the bark. It wasn't very surprising, but it was cool to see. I wasn't super surprised because my prediction was correct, but it was fun to see that the water didn't fall off the leaf very easily. It was really hard to hear the noise that the water made- definitely harder then I thought it was going to be, but I was happy that my predictions were right. |
Eww!!!
"We're off!" shouted Commander Randy. All of the other raindrops and I were ready to be released into the world. I mean, the clouds and sky were nice and all, but all I really wanted to do was explore the world. And I was super excited that my wish was finally coming true! "5...4...3...2...1...Blast Off!!!!" shouted the Commander. Suddenly, we all felt the clouds fall beneath us, and we were falling! It was so beautiful. The flowers and grass, trees, the kids running. It felt so good. Suddenly, I felt a splash and soon realized I was under water! I realized that I was in pool! It actually felt good. The nice warm water. Days passed and I, the raindrop, became bored. Finally, a summer day came and a bunch of kids came running into the pool. I got pushed and kicked all over the pool. I was disgusted by the kids, a mix of sweat and water pouring down their faces. Little 1-5 year-olds picking their noses.Any other disgusting thing you could think of. "Ewww!!!" I exclaimed. This same experience went on for days, until finally, I started to lift up! No one noticed it, but I was slowly turning into a gas! I was being lifted up to the clouds and then I started to turn back into a rain drop! I was falling again! Suddenly, with great disappointment, I was back in the pool.
