For our trip on the Oregon Trail I am choosing not to bring a ton of stuff because I know we are limited on space and weight. I am bringing my iPod on the trip to keep me occupied because I know it is a very long way from Missouri to Oregon. We learned about a lot of the tools/supplies that people used on the Oregon Trail and picked which ones we thought we would need on the trail and which ones were useless until we got to Oregon. Some of the tools/supplies that people on the trail brought were axles, and kingbolts. I didn't realize how many things we needed for the trip. We are bringing 6 axles, 2 kingbolts, 1 wagon tongue, 5 heavy ropes, and 2 chains. I am very excited to go on the trip but my legs are going to hurt so bad and I'm going to be so tired after we are finally done traveling and we are in Oregon. I wonder how we are going to fit everyone's belonging's, food, and tools into 5 or 6 wagons. It will be tough. Along the way we have to kill animals and get their meat even though we are bringing tons and tons of food. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. But I guess we need to stay fed on the long journey.
