I predict that the best conductor will be aluminum. Fell 2nd.
I predict that the next best conductor will be brass. Fell 3rd
Then I predict the next best conductor will be copper. Fell 1st
Then I predict the second worst conductor will be bamboo wood. Fell 5th
Last I predict that the worst conductor will be the plastic. Fell 4th
1.Describe how the heat energy transferred from the hot plate to the butter.
Answer: The heat energy transferred from the hot plate to the butter because when the rods touched the bottom of the jar they are touching the hot plate and the heat goes through the rods and it made the butter go down the rod.
2.How did the results compare to your predictions.
Answer: Actually my predictions were all wrong. It was funny when I realized it. I was close on a few but other than that they were wrong.
3.Which of the tested materials were the two best conductors? What is your evidence?
Answer: The two best conductors were the copper and the aluminum. I know this because they were the first to that made the butter melt.
4.Which of the tested materials were the two worst conductors? What is your evidence?
Answer: The two worst conductors were the plastic and the bamboo wood. I know this because they were the last to make the butter melt.
5.Do you think water is a good or poor conductor? Why?
Answer: I think water is a good conductor because it gets hot very quickly which in this case made the rods hot which make the butter melt fast.
6.Why do you think it matters which material is a good or bad conductor? How do we use conductors in our life?
Answer: I think it matters if a material is good or bad because if you want something to go faster you probably want a good conductor. Also you want a good conductor because you will probably get better results. You can use conductors in your life because like when your cooking you use hot water when you make pasta, you need the hot water to cook the pasta.
