MY WATER STORY
BACK FLIP? NO WAY!
I peered over the boards. I turned around, a back flip? I couldn't do it. I jumped over the edge and splashed with a normal cannon ball. As I sat at the edge of the well, I stared at the people doing stuff that looked like magic compared to a normal jump. Flying through the air like a hero, and I couldn't back flip. I debated with myself each time at the board, should I do it, or no. After what seemed like hours of debating with myself, I just gave up. I sat on the concrete benches with Taylor, Katie and my mom. The were chatting away, I sat, sullen. Ugh I was mad, I would do almost any dare but not a simple flip, how many times had my mom said it was easy. More importantly, how many more times would I stand to hear it. "I'm doing it" I announced. I walked over, a look of determination on my face. Then I saw the line. I swear it was miles back, but only one. Trying to be casual I kinda strode to the other one. I climbed up nothing in my way, except for me. I grabbed my head, what was I thinking! I walked to the boards edge, turned and slowly but surely, I gathered my courage. I was ready. I pushed off, kicked my feet over my head and flipped. No not flipped. Back flipped. I grinned like no tomorrow and swam over to the diving wells edge. And the rest of the day, I flipped like nobody's business.
