Here is my video of my game that I researched about. The pioneers played this game to pass time.
My Reflection
Today we stayed at Alcove Springs. It was so much better then the other places we've stayed. After all of our chores, we played. I wished it would never end. We swam in the fresh water spring, and played all sorts of fun games. My favorite was Jumping Monkey, because of the neat flips and moves that the monkey did. Every time I competed with one of my friends, my monkey went the highest, so I won! Sometimes we would watch people that were brave enough to climb the very tall trees. I was too nervous to try it. Not only did we have a very fun time playing all of the games, we also had a delicious picnic lunch. We had all sorts of food, vegetables, fruits, a rabbit stew, and even an Apple Cobbler for dessert. My favorite was the cobbler, but none of it was bad. I wish we had feasts like this every day. Even though we had plenty of fun, the chores were still needed to be done. I thought that maybe the chores would be a little bit better and more fun, and I was right. With the cheerful mood of everyone else, and the sound of the spring and the birds chirping- it actually felt like we were playing. When me and some of my friends were washing clothes, we started a water fight! It was fun, and we got the job done too. Some other chores were picking berries and vegetables for the trail later on, making a fire and then cleaning it out at night, and plenty of other, what were once considered boring, fun chores. I also realized how much faster and more energized the animals were after being rested. The horses ran super fast when we raced them, and the oxen seemed to pay more attention to our demands when we wanted them to move. I wish we could stay at Alcove Springs forever!
