Surface Sand- Wood- Grass- Leaf- Dirt- | Prediction I think that the sand will just absorb the water, and not really do much else. I thought that the water on the wood would just get soaked up and in. I thought that it would just sit on top, not doing anything. For the leaf, I just thought the water would sit there. Not really do anything. I thought that the dirt would just soak in, not doing anything else. | Actual The sand turned darker and then sunk in to the rest of the sand. But that was only the sand that touched water. But the sand soaked it up. The water just sat on top of the wood, not soaking in. It was all just one clump. The water actually just went through the grass and down onto the table. Some was on top, but not a ton. My prediction was correct, and the water just sat there, not doing a whole lot. For the dirt, the water did soak in, but then the color of the dirt darkened a little bit. | Reflection I thought it was really cool, learning what happened to sand. I thought it would just be soaked up, so I learned something cool today. The water just sat on the wood, not really doing anything in one clump. I thought it would just soak into the wood. It was cool to learn something new, but I didn't know a whole lot about what might happen. It was cool to me to actually get one prediction of what would happen correct. It was cool that the dirt was changing as the water went in, and it just changed in more than one way. |
One drop traveled a whole distance, all through the earth. It went up into the clouds, and down onto the earth below. It's one long journey, that goes around in one long cycle. It goes up into the clouds, and down onto the earth. Let's follow a drop, and see what it's journey is. One day a drop was hanging in the clouds, swirling around with other fellow droplets. Not just a few, a ton, in fact, thousands. The cloud was full of those little droplets. Then, they all started to leak out of the cloud, falling to the earth below. They hit the ground hard, and this particular droplet hit the top of a house. But the rain soon stopped, and the sun came out and warmed everyone with it's light. The droplets still sat there, laying on the roof. But as it grew warmer and warmer, the drop began to evaporate and lift off the roof of the house and float up into the sky. Now all the drops were up in a cloud, floating there, waiting for the cycle to continue and not stall. But fall from the sky once more onto the beautiful earth below.
