In this experiment we had different rods with butter on them and we put them in water that was on a hot plate. The best conductor will be wood and then it will go brass, copper, aluminum then the worst conductor will be plastic. That is my prediction for this
- Describe how the heat energy transferred from the hot plate to the butter. It went into the water and traveled up the rod. It Heated the rod to make the butter fall down.
- How did the results compare to your predictions. I did terrible. The one that dropped last I thought would drop first.
- Which of the tested materials were the two best conductors? What is your evidence? The two best were Copper and Aluminum because they were the ones that dropped first.
- Which of the tested materials were the two worst conductors? What is your evidence? Plastic and Wood because they were the last to slide down.
- Do you think water is a good or poor conductor? Why? I think it is good because it the heat traveled threw the water.
- Why do you think it matters which material is a good or bad conductor? How do we use conductors in our life? Some times you use a bad conductor to get hot stuff out of something. That is good because if you used a good conductor you wood get burned.
