Notes (For Yellowstone)
- It will be hard to keep the animals close-This is bad because if our animals are dead we are going to die.
- In the late 1800 there where many fur traders.-Like us!!!!
- A lot of people would go there for the beavers-So are we in our simulation
- Beavers became scarce after this.-This was bad because people lost there jobs.
- Nobody really lived here besides the natives-We will not settle here because we are going to Oregon
- There are over 6 feet of snow there sometimes.-No wonder nobody wanted to live there.
- Rugged place- It is also kind of stuck in the middle of nowhere
- Wheeled vehicles are not allowed in Yellowstone today.-What why?
- One famous trapper here was named Osborn Russel and having interactions with Indians.-I never new that guy.
- They would use obsidian to make arrows-I would not want that to be my job.
- People here would tell stories or myths.-I wish I could tell stories!!!
- There are many volcanic eruption there.-Who new that they would reach all the way to different states?
- There where 26 different tribes in Yellowstone back then.-That is a lot!!!
- Petrified wood look like normal wood.
- As far as those people telling stories the also had some truth to them.
- It has been a long time since a volcanic eruption.-Whew!Maybe we won't get hit by a volcano.
- Many of the hot spring in Yellowstone will kill you.-Yikes I do not want to go in those boiling pots.
- When the gas mixes with water it can turn into acid.
- There are mudpots.-I could clean off in the mud like a pig!!!
Reflection: This was a very interesting Skype because I learned a lot about tribes and interesting facts like natural spring and volcanoes. This was much different than the other Skype because she told use about natural things not to much about animals. When she was talking about the animals I thought that was really fun because then I learned about how they happen and what we should watch out for off the trail. Then she told us about hot springs and that they can kill you because they are over 200 degrees hot. So that is very scary but I didn't know that and we could have died from that. So she told use many things that we could have died from on the trail and I am very surprised that those thing would happen. So this was very fun and hope I could Skype with her again.
